PAA President’s Report

Happy New Year all.

I sincerely hope that you have all had a wonderful start to 2016.

Let’s begin with welcoming our new committee members Jeremy Hunt, Kristy Smith, Ella Wong, Melissa Barry, Mariana Tolj, Vera Torbolov and Helen Stamatakos. Thank you all for joining the team and the work that you have already commenced over the summer break. The team has divided into sub groups to focus on aspects of our strategic plan.

Members Benefits – Vera, Helen and Mariana

Pilates health brochure promotion – Melissa, Chris and Jen

Research and Journals – Jeremy

Social Media – Kristy and Ella.

Works have begun via emails and the team will meet for their first face to face meeting in 2016 on February 19th.

Sharan Simmons (Vice President) has sprinted forward into this new year liaising with all of the team and ensuring that programs and timelines working on the Strategic Plan are being set into solid form. Thank you Sharan.

This year, I would like to increase the open communication between members and the committee. Much talk and brainstorming will direct the Alliance into a strong forward moving body. We have committed to the Fitness and Health Expo (Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth) and also the World Congress for the Aging in Melbourne through sponsorship, presentations and presence, interacting with the wider health and fitness community.

We welcome a new Education Body, Tensegrity, to our fleet and will be holding our Education Body forum in June 2016. This forum will provide the PAA’s affiliated Education Providers the opportunity to meet face to face and with members of the committee and discuss the Pilates industry and education in Australia.

So, lovely to be with you all for another year and please remember to contact me anytime with any questions, queries and dreams.

Speak soon.
