The PAA is excited to announce confirmation of the first three of our international presenters for the PAA Conference, 3-5 September 2021: Cara Reeser, Jeremy Laverdure and Elaine Ewing.

Cara Reeser

Cara Reeser is a continuing education provider for Pilates instructors with over 26 years of teaching experience as a Pilates instructor. She earned a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. It was at NYU that Cara began her initial studies in the Pilates Method with first-generation Master Teacher, Kathleen Stanford Grant.
In 1993 Cara relocated from New York City to Boulder, Colorado where she continued her Pilates training at The Pilates Center of Boulder. After certification, Cara taught there for six years before opening her own studio Pilates Aligned, which she managed for 20 years.
As a second-generation Pilates instructor and lineage carrier of the Kathy Grant work, Cara is the lead teacher and director of a post graduate training program called The Heritage Training. She is also the co-owner and co-educator for Movement Science Made Simple, a continuing education platform that works to advance the knowledge of biomechanics, pain science and motor learning for Pilates instructors.
Cara was a member of the Department of Dance faculty at Naropa University for 15 years, she danced and choreographed professionally for over 20 years. For the past 12 years has been a dedicated student of the Yoga tradition, which continues to feed her interest in the science of movement and the body-mind connection.
Jeremy Laverdure

Jeremy Laverdure is a physical therapist and Pilates instructor in New York City. Jeremy’s Pilates teaching is informed by his training at The Pilates Center of Boulder, his many years as a yogi and dancer, and his study of Klein Technique with Barbara Mahler.
For 13 years, Jeremy was an owner of Sixth Street Pilates, a boutique Pilates studio. In 2014, he and Cara Reeser founded Movement Science Made Simple, a continuing education program for Pilates instructors. In 2020, he was certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Jeremy is currently on staff at Shift Wellness in Manhattan.
Elaine Ewing

Elaine is a third generation, certified Authentic Pilates teacher through the New York Pilates Studio®. She owns Rhinebeck Pilates, a fully equipped studio located in historic Rhinebeck, NY. Many pieces of original equipment from Joseph Pilates 8th Avenue Studio can be found within Rhinebeck Pilates.
Elaine teaches daily in her Rhinebeck studio, both in person and virtually, and also taught at The New York Pilates Studio® in New York City for four years.
Together with Sean Gallagher, Elaine presents workshops throughout the year based on Joseph Pilates’ original method and apparatus. In 2018 Elaine worked alongside Sean Gallagher to help create the yearly conference at Jacob’s Pillow, Pilates at The Pillow™.
They continue to host and teach this twice-yearly conference which has been the first event in the Pilates community to present “lost” apparatus and original work, such as: The Lost Art of The Resister™, The Lost Art of the Ped-o-Pul™, and The Lost Art of the Bench Mat™. Elaine was thrilled to present The Lost Art of The Resister™ inside Joseph Pilates’ original Berkshire studio, (the property is owned by Sean Gallagher) – the first time a workshop had ever been presented within that historically significant location.
