Notice to stakeholders
The Department of Health has recently notified stakeholders of the draft Terms of Reference for the new Natural Therapies Review. The review will be led by the Australian Government Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Professor Brendan Murphy, and be supported by the Natural Therapies Review Expert Advisory Panel (NTREAP).
The PAA are considering feedback on the draft Terms of Reference and will also submit nominations for representatives on the Expert Advisory Panel. The notice suggests nominees should have expertise in research/evaluation of scientific evidence of clinical effectiveness and/or experience in practice in the relevant natural therapies. Potential members should be available for a number of meetings between August 2019 and June 2020.
The window for nominations is very short, if you are interested in nominating for the Expert Advisory Panel please contact me ASAP on sharan@pilates.org.au
Review of recent research
In preparation for the review we are also conducting a review of recent research with the assistance of a researcher at QUT. A full report will be submitted to the review panel highlighting the efficacy of Pilates for various conditions and injuries. If this is your passion then please drop us a line to get involved and support your industry.
If you are aware of other interested stakeholders who would like to be kept informed about the review, please ask them to contact the Department at: naturaltherapiesreview@health.gov.au
